Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
A white shield with golden orange wings charged with the Arabic number 10 in blue below a white star 11/16 inch (1.75 cm) in diameter with a red disc in the center within a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) white annulet 13/16 inch (2.06 cm) in diameter, all on blue disc 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
The colors are those of the Army Air Forces.  The number ten indicates the numerical designation of the organization, while the winged shield and the white star with a red center indicate that the organization is a part of the Army Air Forces.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 25 January 1944.
